Design researcher Paulien Routs has created SOAK, a textile coating which indicates the levels of acidity in sweat.

When applied to fabric or textile, the colors will change from blue, indicating highest levels of hydration and basic sweat, to brown, meaning dehydration and highly acidic sweat.
