The Cannes Film Festival has officially wrapped up its 68th installment. The winners were announced this evening.

Jacques Audiard, who previously took home the Grand Prix for Un Prophet, received the Palme d'Or for Dheepan, a film centered around the struggles of Sri Lankan immigrants in contemporary France. In general, Dheepan was well-received but far from a front-runner. In another surprising turn, Todd Haynes' Carol, the best-reviewed film of the festival, only received one award which went to Rooney Mara for Best Actress. She shared the prize with Emmanuelle Bercot for her turn in Mon Roi.

The jury was headed by the Coen Brothers.
