Bill Nye is getting his own documentary via Kickstarter

Bill Nye the Science Guy is getting his own documentary. The film will be directed by Seth Gordon, David Alvarado and Jason Sussberg.

The team has launched a Kickstarter to raise $650,000 to fund the project. Some donations incentives include sneak peeks, Nye's handwritten notes, and for $10,000, an associate producer credit.

As the CEO of the Planetary Society, Nye is working to launch a solar-powered satellite into space.

Director Seth Gordon has worked on documentaries such as "Freakonomics," "Horrible Bosses," and "Identity Thief."
