How to record a whole album in the Apple store
Twenty-five year old Prince Harvey, an artist and musician currently living in Brooklyn, has just secretely completed a full album at the Apple Store in SoHo.
The album entitled PHATASS, an acronym for Prince Harvey At The Apple Store: SoHo, was somewhat of an accident. When computer failure eliminated his progress twice, Harvey took matters into his own hands.
In order to complete the process, he befriended two employees who helped him bend the rules to finish his project.
Computer failure wasn't the only obstacle in the way of completion. His thumb drive has been pulled out multiple times and guards have kicked him off before he was ready to save his work.
Harvey believes in ultimate resourcefulness:
I don’t think I’m poor. Poor is a mentality. I mean, I can be broke—no money in my pocket—but I’ve never been poor. I’ve been rich my whole life.
Ultimately, the final product is raw, fresh, and unforgiving. The full album will be released on July 26. Check out the first single, "Sometimes," below.
