Spotify released an interactive map that allows subscribers to take an aural vacation. They've created playlists comprised of the most distinctive music from almost 1000 cities. Here's what makes the playlists disctint from one another, according to a blog post by Spotify:

You can click any of nearly a thousand cities to hear a playlist of the music that is most distinctively enjoyed there. What do we mean by "distinctive?" This is music that people in each city listen to quite a bit, which people in other cities also do not listen to very much. So it is, exactly, the music that makes them different from people everywhere else.

The playlists will be updated twice a month. Obviously playlists are not available everywhere. (What! There's no music in Africa?!) We're assuming this can be explained by the fact that not all countries have access to Spotify's services.
