Billing themselves as "the world's only Nedal band," and clad in green pullovers, pink polos, and glasses stands five-man outfit Okilly Dokilly. The Phoenix-based group is a Ned Flanders-themed metal band and consists of Head Ned, Red Ned, Thread Ned, Stead Ned and Bled Ned.

Bandleader and lead vocals, Head Ned says that the band's concept was conceived of while shopping at a local convenience store, which we're assuming is the Kwik-E-Mart

Myself and our drummer were in line at a grocery store, entertaining ourselves by coming up with really cutesy names for really hardcore, brutal bands. The name Okilly Dokilly came up and was very funny to us. We ran with it. I contacted a few friends, and here we are. Most of us have played in other bands around our hometown. This is definitely the heaviest sounding project any of us Neds have done.

The band’s bio is clear to point out that most of their songs are Ned Flanders quotes. Additionally, their song “All That Is Left” is an ode to all The Leftorium and all things left-handed.

And if you were wondering where Okilly Dokilly places themselves in terms of Simpsons-themed metal, they see themselves as, "Not as fast as Bartcore, and a little cleaner than Krusty Punk. Not as heavy as ‘Homer J.ent’ – Nedal is a happy medium in the Simpscene.”

Listen to the band's four-track demo below:

Okilly Dokilly is set to play their first hometown show on September 5 at The Trunk Space in Phoenix, Arizona.

Facts about Ned Flanders:

Flanders was named after Flanders Street in Portland, Oregon, which is the hometown of series creator Matt Groening.

Ned’s first use of “diddly” was in “The Call of the Simpsons.

There have been two instances where Flanders was not voiced by Harry Shearer. They were in “Bart of Darkness” and “Homer to the Max."
