The new teaser trailer for Fox's X-Files is supremely short. Let's get that clear. At a total runtime of 15 seconds, it's hard to get a full grasp of what we'll see next year.

Here's what we do know:

The military is definitely involved, and at their helm is a mysterious, shadowy man.

Someone's arm is getting injected with something, which might potentially be black oil.

Mulder's office has been trashed, and someone just walked over his "I Want to Believe" poster in the teaser's lone heartbreaking moment.

Mulder and Scully are back wielding their comically bright flashlights again.

Not only are old cast members back (FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner and The Cigarette Smoking Man), but they'll be joined by Rhys Darby of Flight of the Conchords and Community's Joel McHale.

The new season of X-Files will return Sunday January 26, 2016 on Fox.
