One of the highlights of this year’s 48-hour Global Game Jam competition was Höme Improvisåtion, a video game that recreates the infuriating experience of putting together IKEA flatpack furniture without any instructions (not affiliated with IKEA.)

The game begins when a flatpack furniture box mysteriously lands in your living room, leaving you to assemble the first piece of furniture before the next one arrives. Users can go through the hellish experience alone or play cooperatively with a friend. When the going gets tough, designers The Stork Burnt Down offer this piece of advice: “If ever you don't know what to do, just think like a Scandinavian industrial designer.”

Download Höme Improvisåtion and live out one of your most frustrating realities in the virtual sphere.
