Most UK students are too optimistic about finding a job and will be sorely disappointed, study finds
Over half of UK college graduates are currently working in a job that they believe does not even require a degree, according to the UK Graduate Employment Survey. The Accenture Strategy polled 1,000 students who were graduating this year and 1,000 people who graduated in 2013 and 2014.
Of those graduating this year, 77 percent said they feel their education has adequately prepared them for employment. But sixty percent of the 2013/2014 group said they were under-employed or working in a job that does not require a degree. 72 percent of current students say they expect to find full-time work, but only 58 percent of graduates have been able to find full time employment.
Kids, stay in school. Or don't.
