In a recent study conducted by researchers at William and Mary and the University of Maryland, data shows that eating fermented or pickled foods could help ease anxiety symptoms.

The study involved documenting the dietary patterns of 700 college students. Those who consumed foods such as kimchi and sauerkraut showed less symptoms of agitation. Several factors, such as a 'mind-gut connection' could be at play here, as well as the probiotics found in fermented foods.

The findings will be published in the August issue of Psychiatry Research.
