Introduced in 1999, Sony’s AIDO ("Artificial Intelligence" robot) dog sold over 150,000 units and until March of last year, these robo-pooches had repair services that keep them barking and biting well into the future.

But with scarcer supplies and Sony discontinuing its repair service, many of the AIDO dogs are dying off and owners are finding interesting new ways to deal with their eGrief. In Isumi, a city outside of Tokyo, a small collection of dead AIDOs were given a proper Japanese-style funeral at a 450-year-old Buddhist temple.
