Oculus Rift, the experiential virtual reality platform, says it is very open to experiment with pornography in the near future.

When asked about the possbility of adult content on Rift, founder Palmer Luckey said, "The Rift is an open platform. We don’t control what software can run on it. And that’s a big deal.” There are no plans to block x-rated content on the platform.

The platform which was purchased by Facebook recently for $2 billion, is expected to launch to consumers within the next year.

Logistics of virtual reality porn are still being worked out though, as much of it so far is still in the primitive stages. Developers such as Matt Lambert and Mark Farid are working on projects which involve living a fully virtual existence for a month, or filming a documentary with 360 degree cameras.

Perhaps these projects can refine the ways in which people experience immersive porn. Eliminating motion sickness for users would also be a priority.
