The United Arab Emirates City of Dubai is collaborating with Chinese company WinSun to design and build the first-ever entirely 3D printed office building.

The office will be one story, 2,000 square feet, and printed layer by layer with a 20 foot 3D printer. The office interior and furniture will also be entirely 3D printed. Reinforced concrete, gypsum, glass fibers and plastic will be used.

WinSun, the company providing the printing technology, came into the spotlight recently for 3D printing 10 houses in 24 hours, as well as a five story apartment block.

For the Dubai project, the building will not be constructed in pieces, but as one entire building. The project is expected to cut labor costs down by 50-80% and take several weeks.
