Seaworld's profits drop 84% after documentary exposé 'Blackfish' released
Theme park owners Seaworld reported a drop in profits of 84% following the release of the film Blackfish, which documented the park's mistreatment of orca whales.
The company report lists "continued brand challenges" as the reason for the decline. Visits also dropped by 100,000 since the release of the film.
Seaworld still denies the validity of the film's claims. They were recently in the news again when it was revealed they sent an employee it infiltrate an animal rights group.
