Over €15 million worth of cocaine was accidentally delivered to supermarkets in Berlin this morning.

The cocaine, which was boxed among bananas shipped from Colombia, was reported by staff working at 14 Aldi stores in and around Berlin.

“Apparently there was a logistical mistake somewhere along the line,” a police spokesman has said. This 386-kilo shipment was the largest single cocaine find in Berlin, but it was not, however, the first time Berlin supermarket employees found cocaine in banana crates. In January 2014, 140 kilos were found in a similar case.

Investigations are underway to determine the intended destination of the drugs.
