"Threatening" emoji senders arrested in South Carolina
Emojis are serious business. Yesterday, two men in Spartanburg, South Carolina were arrested after sending threatening Facebook messages to another man.
David Fuentes, 29, and Matthew Cowan, 29, each sent Facebook messages to the alleged victim, using the closed fist, pointing right, and ambulance emoji. The implication probably being that they would send him to the hospital.
The victim, filed an incident report on May 14, also claiming the pair had attempted to assault him at his home. If convicted, Fuentes and Cowan will each face up to five years in prison on stalking charges.
