Facebook has begun to remind people via text of friends' birthdays, allowing users to post "Happy Birthday!" on a friend's wall simply by texting back the number "1". 

This service could lead to a barrage of identical birthday wishes from people who are too lazy to take the time to type a few characters into a screen. Thanks, Facebook.
