Tracy Morgan: "I'm not 100% yet, and when I'm there, you'll know it."
Tracy Morgan appeared on Today Monday for the first interview since his involvement in a tragic car accident.
Nearly a year ago, a Walmart truck smashed into Morgan's limousine, killed comedian James McNair and left Morgan in a coma. Morgan didn't become aware of his friend's death until he came out of his coma two weeks later and watched the crash (and McNair's funeral) on YouTube. “I don’t remember the accident,” Morgan said. “Every day I would just watch the accident on YouTube. One day I saw [McNair’s] funeral on YouTube, and I lost it for about a week… I had to know, and I had to pay my respects. That was my way.”
Morgan continues to suffer from his injuries and won't be returning to comedy until he feels he has recovered. "There are times when I have my good days and my bad days. I'll forget things. There are times when I get headaches and nosebleeds, and I won't even let my lady know because I don't want her to be worried about it," he said.
I love comedy; I'll never stop loving her. I love comedy and I can't wait to get back to her. But right now, my goal is just to heal and get better, because I'm not 100 percent yet, and when I'm there, you'll know it.
