number of times to hit backspace if you want to hack into a Linux machine

Researchers have discovered a particularly egregious security error in Linux that gives a user access to a locked-down machine by simply tapping backspace 28 times when the machine asks for a username.

Hector Marco and Ismael Ripoll from the Cybersecurity Group at Polytechnic University of Valencia, say that a bug in the Grub2 bootloader will give a user access to a computers data and allow installation of malware. Emergency patches are already out for Grub2 as well as Ubuntu, RedHat and Debian.
