The Queen Anne offices of the Girl Scouts of Western Washington turned down a $100,000 donation because the donor demanded the group discriminate against transgender girls. The donation would have accounted for nearly a quarter of the council's annual goal and would have paid to send 500 girls to camp.

The donor, who has not been identified, sent this message along with his or her donation: "Please guarantee that our gift will not be used to support transgender girls. If you can't, please return the money." The council's CEO Megan Ferland decided to return the money.

Now the Girl Scout council, which has publicly supported transgender girls in the past, has started an Indiegogo campaign to make up for the missing funds: "Help us raise back the $100,000 a donor asked us to return because we welcome transgender girls... Girl Scouts is for every girl."
