Protesters in Cleveland sing Kendrick Lamar's "Alright" during police altercation
On Sunday, Black Lives Matter activists, who were gathered for a conference at Cleveland State University confronted police for arresting a 14-year-old for allegedly being drunk on a bus. The police responded by using pepper spray on the crowd. The youth was treated by EMS and later released to his mother.
During the altercation, protestors were caught on camera singing Kendrick Lamar's "Alright" off his latest album To Pimp a Butterfly.
Lamar was accused of "inciting violence" by FOX News after performing the song on top of a vandalized police car at the BET Awards. In response to the allegation, Kendrick Lamar responded "How can you take a song that's about hope and turn it into hatred?"
