Bloom County creator Berkeley Breathed uploaded a picture of himself this yesterday working on his drafting table on a brand new comic with entitled "Bloom County 2015" this weekend.

His caption? "A return after 25 years. Feels like going home."

A return after 25 years. Feels like going home.

The initial strip ran 1980-1989, where it received a Pulitzer Prize in 1987. It was succeeded by two Sunday-only strips Outland (1989-1995) and Opus (2003-2008) that introduced other characters to audiences including but not limited to Opus, a penguin with a herring addiction, and our personal favorite Bill the Cat, whom isn’t (but really is) a Garfield parody.

Bloom County’s return might be the the result of Donald Trump’s bid for president, which we can safely say is the only positive that’s happened from Trump’s involvement in politics. Considering how well-adept the small-town inhabitants of Bloom County are at satirizing the absurdism of American politics and pop culture, something we’re sure that Breathed will have no shortage of now that we’re locked in another election cycle, we'll be in for quite the ride.

Here's first Bloom County in 25 years.

Thanks, Donald.
