Fox's Brian Kilmeade thinks "sharks should be cleared from waters" before competitions
After a group of subsequent shark attacks left several injured in the United States, awareness of the dangers of water sports is at an all-time high.
Professional surfer Mick Fanning's recent shark attack in South Africa, which was caught on video during a competition, created a particularly strong public reaction. In a segment on Fox News, on air personality Brian Kilmeade wondered how the event had occurred. “You would think that they would have a way of clearing the waters before a competition of this level," he said.
According to George Burgess, the increased number of shark attacks is caused by too many humans, not too many sharks. He says, “You get this unholy mix of bait fish, sharks and humans together. When you have that, you’re going to have some bites.”
